This fully-escorted safari begins the moment you touch down in Tanzania, and continues until it’s “wheels up” once more! Upon arrival, you’ll spend your first night at the beautiful Rivertrees Country Lodge in Arusha, before climbing into the custom-designed safari vehicles that will take you safely into the wild to thoroughly explore two world-famous National Parks (Tarangire and Serengeti), one UNESCO World Heritage site (Ngorongoro Crater/ Highlands), and the lush, verdant wildlife playground known as Ndutu! Tanzania always delivers the wildlife! Our team will do everything they can to show you the Great Migration or help you find and check off each of “The Big 5.”
And, while that describes the Critters side of the equation, the Culture side is equally amazing. We’ll leave the National Parks and wilderness areas behind to venture into the Great Rift Valley. Here, our goal will be to closely interact with two important tribes (Hadzabe and Datoga), with the help of our local interpreter, Sadi. These tribes, the local children, and our Tanzanian hosts you’ll meet along the way will collectively steal your heart!
We will even stop for lunch at the Olduvai Gorge to learn about the important archeology that was discovered in (and continues to flow from) this very spot on earth. It is nicknamed The Cradle of Mankind, and it is a fascinating stop over on the way to the Serengeti!

HOT AIR BALLOON EXPERIENCE (Optional Add-On) — This popular addition to the safari is an unforgettable experience. Imagine soaring over the mighty Serengeti in a hot air balloon at dawn. The savannah stretches on for miles and miles in every direction and the herds of animals look entirely different when seen from above. It is breathtaking! Upon landing, you’ll be treated to champagne toast and full breakfast in the bush before rejoining the main safari.

PRE-SAFARI RELAXATION EXTENTION TO ZANZIBAR ISLAND (November 2-8) – Fly into Zanzibar (Tanzania’s main island just off the coast) and allow yourself to gently adjust to the change in time zones with a blended drink in your hand and your toes in the sand. While technically part of Tanzania, this island paradise is vastly different than it’s mainland sibling. From bustling nightlife in Stone Town to boating, fishing, snorkeling, etc., Zanizibar is a haven for relaxing pursuits.

POST-SAFARI THRILLING BEAUTY EXTENSION TO VICTORIA FALLS, ZIMBABWE (November 19-23) – This extension is 4 days and 3 nights in beautiful Zimbabwe, with accommodations at the closest hotel to the magnificent Victoria Falls. You’ll be treated to a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River, about 3 km above the falls themselves. Over the next three days you’ll be treated to a tour and lunch at the falls, an elephant encounter experience, and a HELICOPTER flight over the falls to give you that breathtaking view of this world-famous spectacle. The tour also includes a day trip to Botswana or Chobe, including a river cruise game drive to view wildlife along the riverbanks.
