Founder • Safari Host & Leader of Epic Adventures • Passionate Photographer • Professional Noticer of Wanderful Little Things

Susie didn’t just fall in love with Tanzania… she fell headfirst, boots-and-all into a lifelong love affair with the people, wildlife, landscapes, and soul of this extraordinary country.

She is wildly passionate about animals of every kind, although elephants and birds hold a particularly special place in her heart. She is also inexplicably fascinated by the furry little pompoms on a giraffe’s horns, the beautifully braided-looking patterns on a zebra’s tail, and the ridiculously oversized paws of Africa’s big cats.

(Seriously. The paws are an issue.)

A lover of photography, meaningful travel, and all things Shaggy (the reggae artist… not the guy from Scooby Doo, and definitely not excessively hairy men), Susie believes the most unforgettable moments in life are often the completely unscripted ones.

Especially the moments in Tanzania that leave people speechless.

Around here, those are lovingly referred to as “TIA Moments” — short for This Is Africa — those magical little moments when what you’re seeing, hearing, or feeling is so extraordinary that language simply gives up and walks away.

Susie takes enormous joy in watching guests experience those moments for the very first time.

She has also been accused of needing to “find a shell to come out of,” and yes… she has technically been removed from a cruise ship bar once.

(Not her proudest moment. Definitely one of her funniest stories.)

At the heart of it all, Susie believes travel should mean something. She works hard to ensure that Wanderful Tanzania gives back more than it takes, and the deep relationships she has built throughout Tanzania over the years are a reflection of the genuine love and respect she feels for this remarkable place and its people.

For Susie, Tanzania isn’t just a destination.

It’s her happy place.

Her reset button.

Her soul’s safe haven.

And she cannot wait to share it with you.
